I was able to run a legal DOS version of panzer general on my windows XP machine using DOS box.

All I had to do was mount the cdrom, mount a drive C, and run the pgdos.bat file on the cdrom and the install was successful.

The program ran normally, in both windowed and full screen mode (the video clips were too fast, but that's okay). Sound, mouse, and keyboard all worked normally with no problems.

I like the clunky feel of the old dos game with all the buttons that make a lounk metallic click when you press them.

Just don't forget to put the disk in the drive and mount the cdrom every time you run it!

😁

I can not get my Panzer General 2 working on Windows 7. A download from Abandonia was extracted on the root of the D disk (the computers second hard disk).

Installed Dosbox 0.74.

Did begin by mount: Mount c d:\exe\

After that i tried Enter PG 2 by several commands in Dosbox, but only got the statement Illegal command from the promt in Dosbox.

I believed PG could be started in a simple way, like in a computer with DOS. Fore example by typing the commands panzer or panzer.exe, or standing in the root on the D disk by typing pg.bat. How ever this does not work.

Can somebody provide advice about start commands for PG 2.
