Cannot enter any commands into Dosbox window

Running Windows 7 service pack one.
Have Dosbox 0.74 loaded, and previously worked well.

As of today, when Dosbox loads, I get the Z prompt, but cannot enter any type at all into the comand window. Have not made any changes to my machine--except Window auto updates.

Any help is appreciated--need the Dosbox.

Have you tried backing up your configuration file and rebuilding it from scratch? Just a shot in the dark.

I never really built one---the default config file worked well. Only change that I made was to open Dosbox in full screen mode. I reverted back to default settings with no effect. Then, I tried all of the options for the "output" command line to no effect. I also entered some text into the auto execute command line, but it did not appear upon opening the Dosbox window. I do not see any error messages in the Dosbox status window.
