Depends on the graphics chip.

  • Open the Registry Editor (Start->Run, type regedit, press enter)
  • DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING
  • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\PCI\
  • There will be a bunch of subkeys ("subfolders") on the tree that are named something like VEN_10DE&DEV_0E0A&SUBSYS_326519DA&REV_A1. Pay attention to the VEN_XXXX&DEV_YYYY part.
  • Just reinforcing - DO NOT EDIT ANYTHING, DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING
  • Each "folder" there representes a device on your computer. Windows uses the number XXXX and YYYY (from the VEN_XXXX&DEV_YYYY part) to identify the device and search for the driver
  • Make a list of EVERY device there. You just need to write down the VEN and DEV numbers.
  • Go to PCIDATABASE.COM.
  • For each item: Put the VEN number on the vendor search text box and press search. This will show a list of the vendors that match that number... usually only one. Click it to show a list of all known devices from that vendor. Now look for the DEV number on that list. This will tell you what hardware that is
  • Once you find one item that corresponds to a graphics chip write down its name. Now you can finally look for the driver

you did read it was on motherboard graphics driver, yes? i found a chip saying winbond w83627f-aw

In many motherboards the onboard graphics are part of the chipset, they are not in a separate chip. That winbond chip isn't the graphics one.

If the graphics chip is part of the chipset you should be looking for a chip with VIA, ALi, SiS or Intel written on it
If it is not integrated into the chipset it should be somethig from Trident, Cirrus Logic or S3

Also knowing the brand doesn't do much. You need the full chip name. Different chips from the same manufacturer do not use the same set of drivers. Did you do what I told you to do on my last post? The PnP hardware ID might be an easier way to find exactly what driver you need instead of hunting for chips if you don't know what to look for.
Actually, even a high-res photo of the motherboard would be nice. I can't exactly guess your hardware if I don't even know what it looks like.
