Hi,

does anyone here own a 586TX3 and could help me out with the Pin Assigment of the PS/2 Header ?

i already build a cable but it doesnt work,
a polish website gave me this Information:
1 - + 5 V
2 - GND (masa)
3 - mouse clock
4 - mouse data

2 seems right and is GND, i already measured this.
I connected my PS/2 Port according to this Pinout.
Mouse is powered up, but isnt recognized at all.
BIOS includes PS/2 Support.
Its only activated if mouse is detected on Bootup, as far as i know.
Because 3-4 are without voltage in msdos mode.

Hello,

I am facing the same issue. I wan to build a PS/2 mouse header for a GIGABYTE 586T2 which is very close to yours but I cannot find the pin-out assignment. Did you manage to have cable working?
Would you mind sharing your findings?

You can always just try finding ground and +5V lines, using a multimeter or by visual inspection, then just try switching around clock and data pins.

You can also find out which pins are data lines (not which one is which):
- multimeter in diode test mode
- red probe on GND
- check the remaining three pins with the black probe. Data lines will show a stable value of around 400-800(mV).

1+1=10
