Got the standard version 1.3d CD which installs and runs fine but it's the Plutonium CD that giving me fits with memory "complaints". Tried the ppack15.exe patch but it also gives me an error saying "this program has performed an illegal operation" and so forth. This is in Win98SE by the way.

Tried the above patch in DOS and it gives me a message "need win-zip or pkunzip to extract file". Do I have the right patch or can 1.3d be patched at all? I know the Atomic version is the all in version but I already spent the money on these disks and would like to get them to work. Any tips out there please?

Apparently, there were a number of localized versions of the Plutonium PAK.

Yeah that's where I got the patch from, but doesn't work at least for me. Elsewhere I read that version 1.3d can't be patched, which in my case is turning out to be a true statement. After reading through all the forums a lot of people just gave up and bought the Atomic edition, so may end up doing just that.

On a side note just tried eDuke32 for modern hardware and it works great, especially with the HRP files. So if anyone wants to try Duke Nukem with actual 3D check it out at: http://www.eduke32.com/
