Every version since 7.11 gives me geometry errors with my x1900gt. It's weird, some polygons are really distorted. I wonder if this was fixed in 8.7.

Nice!
I am reading the tweaktown analysis right now.

8.7 fixed all of the Blender issues i've reported driver feedback with the month before including the long-standing gradual slowdown issue which has existed in their drivers for years (oddly no blender user reported this issue?)
AMD rules!
Catalyst 8.9 introduces OpenGL 3.0 support. Wow.

Guess I won't be going to this site any more. (Like I ever did anyway)
Cat 9.1's are coming (site not fully updated yet):

I forgot to update title to newest 9.4
On the other hand, all 9.x series perform horribly for my HD3870. I have rolled back to 8.12 - I have notice heavy texture corruption in Counter-Strike Source with 9.4

Seems ati drops support for older cards every year 🙁. I had big problems with 8.xx series on my old x1900gt, 7.12 was the last to work fine. No problems with 9.4 on 4850 though...
Added link to Cat 9.4 2000 drivers to the first post.
Oh crap. 10.1 drivers just introduced a long standing palette slowdown bug nVidia has had forever. The '90s got regressed big time!
Awesome, isn't "progress" wonderfull?
Yeah, according to some guys in Ati forums, 10.1 have some more regressions, like the humongous mouse cursor(who was fixed in a 9.12 hotfix) and others. Nice. 😁
AMD should get a capable driver programming crew.

10.2 fixed the palette slowdown bug I think!
Which bug was that?

Yea, I would like to know that too. What was the result of this palette slowdown bug?

If it's full screen, and the depth is 8-bit color, the palette updating would delay everything- input, screen update. That's the bug. Simple to explain.
Ati driver development crew sucks, he he he. 😁
They have very good hardware but they should make the drivers opensource. I am pretty sure the community would do a finer job.

I bet the ATI hardware engineers cry everytime sub-par drivers get released 🤣
Anyway i've been using ATI cards for a few years now and i find them to be great! They may have minor driver issues but then again so do Nvidia and most other hardware manufacturers... I've not come across any major issues yet apart from some random crashes in Unreal Tournament III.
While nVidia releases Fermi, Ati has the best video hardware right now.
