i cant start the game S2. When i run S2.EXE it just shows me a blank, black screen. i have a TFT and i managed to run it without DOSBOX, but with a few problems (screen size doesnt fit etc.)
Anyone here to tell me the right settings?
did you mount your siedler 2 cdrom ?

yep. problem is not the CDRom. You dont even need it when playing the original game (without gold ed.)
i intalled UniVBE and got an error msg:
outer main loop: selected screen mode not avail!!
ah dosbox only support 800x600 and 640x480
not 1024x768

Try using a CVS build of DOSBox. See the development forum for info.
but S2 doesnt start on 1024x786 but on 640x480? and what do i do to fix it?

oh, it was with the cvs at http://ykhwong.x-y.net/page.htm
and i installed a patch on S2 wich crushed an image. i needet to copy it. so nothing dosbox related there.
C:\Siedler\GFX\PICS\SETUP997.LBM was missing. i just copied the SETUP998.LBM and renamed it.
But it is SLOW. im running a 2.4 Ghz machine here, and it is slower as it was on my 386 machine i had a few years ago. (i would use it now, but i cant afford to maintain such an old computer...)
Any ideas how i can get it faster?
