I have a strange problem with my SB Live CT4760 connected to a Roland SC-55ST: sometimes the MIDI playback goes through the SC-55ST as expected, but sometimes it does not.

My setup is a P200MMX running Windows 98SE. This issue appeared after I installed the Liveware 3.0 to solve another problem (with the previous drivers I was unable to restart in MS-DOS mode).

Playing MIDI files via the Windows Media Player uses the SC-55ST, games such as Doom II and Heretic (via zDoom) also use it, but curiously Duke Nukem 3D won't use the SC-55ST: the music comes from the SB Live MIDI synth. Of course in the game setup I have selected General Midi (same result if I choose Sound Canvas).

Any idea?
