Your virus protector probably closed it because it detected it as a virus. Don't worry it is a false positive. So make sure you add an exception in your real time scanner settings so that it doesn't detect it again. I don't. However, I tried going into safe mode and it worked alright

Guizin239, not saying this is the problem, but I had issues with my Final Fantasy games a few months ago and the culprit was Windows Data Execution Prevention. Try either adding an exception to it for Help.exe or try disabling DEP and see if that helps.

Don't tell people to add exceptions to DEP. Because of confusing wording, people tend to actually enable it to add an exception (which is of course, pointless, but people aren't that good with logic and reading). The DEP settings should look like this, which they do by default.

Also don't tell people to disable DEP because then they might figure out how to disable it entirely. Just tell people to set DEP settings to the default and make it very clear what those defaults are (pictured above).

Thank you for making these patches!

I'm trying to get Outwars to run at 1920x1080, but it seems to only run at 640x480 maybe upscaled.

At first the game ran fine just running the exe, just not high res and no widescreen.
So I found your tool, and tried using it but it looks and feels the same when I run it.

Using a Gtx 1070 (latest Drivers), Ryzen 2700x

Is there any way to get this to run in widescreen native or is the in game viewport always 4:3?

I know I've asked for a better selection of 16:9 UI sizes (resolutions to upscale from), but I didn't ask for more 4:3 sizes. Is that possible too? Maybe a common resolution like 1024x768?

I've tried launching Tomb Raider 2 through the patcher, and it crashes to desktop. But Tomb Raider 2 Gold works just fine for some reason?

The error I get is:

I was making work Martian Gothic with the lastest patch, and i found the "Gamepad fix" doesn't work since Patch version 4. With 1-3 the gamepad works (i'm playing using version 3). Except that, everything seems fine.

It's there any way to make FMV's play filling the entire screen? I'm talking about RE2 (and possibly other games too, haven't tested more but I guess it does happen on other games). I'm playing at 1080p but cutscenes are played at original resolution on a tiny spot, I'm wondering if it isn't possible to play the cutscenes the same how video players do it, filling the entire screen (with or without maintaining original aspect ratio).

The option to scale the FMVs will return to RE2 and other games soon

Peixoto, Heart of Darkness only works with english 1.0 (supposedly 1.0) version, any chance to include 1.04 and 1.05 versions, as well as other languages?

Update:

Some bugs fixed on DX8 and earlier :
-Fixed some bugs on texture swapping introduced when the handling of DX6 and earlier was merged
-Restored the option to select the size of FMVs in some games
-Changed how frame rate limitation is implemented
-Forced resolution on DX8 doesn't disables MSAA anymore
-A Few other small things

Added support for DX9:
Forced resolution, as with other APIs, still has a low compatibility, but some games that befit a lot from it already work

New games added
- Half Life 2 (Dx9)
- FEAR
- System Shock 2 (DX9)
- Second Sight

Edit: forgot to fix resolution enumeration again. Next time
