Hello All

I have been using DosBox before, with great success but now I cant seem to even get it running.

When I launch it it quits saying: Exit to Error: Failed to create a rendering output. I have tried altering various settings to no avail. I have also tried downloading earlier versions which said: Segmentation Error: Parachute Deployed.

OS: W2K
Display Adapter: SiS 730

Either update your SiS 730 drivers, or try changing the output-type in DOSBox (surface, overlay, opengl, ...).

Also check how many copies/versions of sdl.dll you have on your system.

Hello, thanks for your reply.

I updated the drivers, and tried the various output types to no success.

I have one copy of SDL.dll on my machine.

Hmm - I don't know what to suggest. Did you try the suggestions listed here:

DOSBox crashes when started
rendering output error on 0.63
Getting DOSbox to work on windows 98 second edition...

Pretty much the same as I have already suggested, except for checking/updating your DirectX version.

Hm, it did not work eigther. Maybe I should just give it up.

I notice that most of us having this problem are trying to run DosBox on laptops... Hmm...
