Looks like a socket 3.
Ie 486.
But there's a lot missing. I doubt it's functional

Things I built:
Mechwarrior 2 installer for Windows 10/11 Re: A comprehensive guide to install and play MechWarrior 2 on new versions on Windows.
Dos+Windows 3.11 auto-install iso template (for vmware)
Script to backup Win9x\ME drivers from a working install

I'm new here, so maybe its not right forum to ask, if not point me in right direction or just remove this post.
Can someone help me identify this board/card I bought today on flea market, I think its some sort of upgrade - overdrive or maybe some proprietary card.
Thanks!

At first glance I was puzzled... I was trying to figure out why a PCI card would exist with a 486sx on it and very little else, but now I see that is actually a Microchannel (MCA) card. That interface is mostly found in IBM PS/2 systems.

In PS/2 systems the CPU is usually (Or always? I don't have much experience with them and I only own one.) on a separate card, but it doesn't go into a standard MCA slot like this and I can't find any pictures of such a card online. The processor card in a PS/2 is usually much larger and has a huge connector 3 times as long as the one on this card.

There may be a better place to find a dedicated PS/2 or Microchannel crowd, but it would be worth asking over at vcfed in the 386\486 forum.

Anyway, neat find! If you do find out what it is, reply to this post and let me know. I am curious. 😀

EDIT: Also, in the unlikely event that you have a Microchannel system laying around, I wouldn't go jamming this in there. Who knows what is up with the wires run on the back, and it always feels extra sketchy to insert an unknown card with no slot bracket... I am only about 75% certain of the card's orientation because it just isn't something I'm real familiar with.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

I used to have some 386 AST Bravo computer and it used CPU on a card using a MCA / VLB connector too. This is probably same type of thing but what exactly used it I wouldn't know...

One of my most exciting purchases in the last couple of years.

I was very happy to grab one from the recent restock. I wanted the SUX6000, but the SG6000 is similar enough. Doesn't work with my TUSL2-C board, but works fine in a Chaintech 7AJA2. I guess the voodoo 5 6000 is known to work better with VIA chipsets. Fine by me!

Thanks for your reply.. I have bigger problems with some nice future DOS gaming PC-to-be. I got this motherboard from my friend, and I assume its from some POS machine. It fires right up but I cannot make it boot from ANYTHING. I think I'm missing some SETUP UTILITY DISK to setup boot order. Nothing from BIOS doesn't change anything . Its a perfect motherboard for DOS gaming, It has everything onboard just have to add some sound card and I'm ready to run n' gun!

This is the board https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/advantech-pos-460

Anyone? I'm desperate... 😭

Does it respond to keyboard strokes?
Does it try to boot from floppy disk? (LED lighting up)

You've hooked something like an HDD / FDD up, right? 🤔

Have you replaced the coin cell battery? Some boards are near useless when the CMOS battery is dead.

Okay, the only thing more eye watering than the beauty of this is the price. Wow.

How much you pay for it? If it's not a secret...

You know what they say right, if you have to ask the price then you cant afford it .. hell not many could.

Still .. I want one.

Question is "do I want to buy it?" and answer is no. I paid much more for a bicycle then many could or would.
Everyone has their own illness. Stupid discussion.

Yes stupid in that it takes less than 30 seconds to find the answer to the question you first asked.

These were relatively cheap (I think) so I bought them;
P3 1GHz/133 slot1
P2 400MHz
Celeron 300A slot1
Celeron 400 pga
40 eur incl shipping. I need to stop this 😀
I don't even have a 133MHz FSB Slot1 mobo. Just a BX6r2 that *might* work as such.
The 300A - it was cheap and would be fun to overlock it
The 400. Our first internet-connected PC was a P2B/Cel400 (albeit slot1). Trying to recreate my youth 😮

All of that for 40€ is robbery, I can't find p3 1000 slot 1 under 150€ on ebay.

Ebay IS the robbery. Once you leave it and look around locally you'll find anything you need at a fair price... after a few months or years. Ebay has a huge impatience tax.
