One thing I've learnt over time is women arn't stupid when it comes to money. Good luck explaining things when the bank investigation comes back saying "Sincere apologies sir but your 3DFX addiction leads us to believe that your account is fine and hasn't been compromised. Good luck with your wife!"

I haven't wife fortunately, just the girlfriend, but you are right. I tried to turn it into a joke but you bring back reality.
Edit: still? Let's have a look at this shopping again...

Well in my case I don't have many problems with my wife. Every time she complains about all the boxes laying around the room I open her closet and say: "If you didn't have so many SHOES in the whole house I would have enough space to keep my cards in the closet..." and If that does not shut her up I show her how much i spend on my hobby and compare it to her expenses and say: "You see you spend lots of money on clothes and I on hardware. Your stuff is going to be worthless in a couple of months and you gonna throw your cloths away - I am going to keep my cards FOREVER and they will only increase their value 😉"
Here are my Intel I740 cards from favorite manufacturers:
- Hercules
- Asus
- Diamond
- Gainward
Now my question is: does anybody know it there were versions from CREATIVE and STB?
I finally picked up a Roland MT-32. It was about $62 after shipping and had the original AC adapter, manual and sound list. Now I just need to play with it.

Very nice...these CPU's despite being s775 are indeed rare. I have been looking for one of those D965's (at a decent price) for a while now.
Also, I am always on the lookout for a s478 3.4GHz EE CPU (to go along with my ASUS P4P800 board)...which seem to be even more rare these days (well I guess they have always been a bit rare).
Picked up these random goodies today...
...yet another KVM...I will add this one to my list to test out in the near future...
...a Radeon X850 (PCI-e 😵 )...don't know what I can use this for, but for $3.50 I had to bite.
...a lot of PC3200 256MB and 1GB RAM...
...some more RAM...
....another OEM Dell Creative X-Fi sound card...I found XP drivers that worked in one of my S775 systems, so I thought why not get another...I do like the "gold" connectors.
that Linksys kvm works nicely for me, but I have had some issues on some video cards not working without the power cable connected to it. It will power the unit if 2 computers are connected but my mac g4 hates that kvm

That's good to know because I was planning on using it with a mac as well (G5)...I didn't know you could use the KVM without the 9v power adapter. I would be using a power adapter anyways so I don't think I'll have to worry about using 4 computers with it.
Do you remember what the highest resolution you used with this KVM?

I'm on the lookout for one of these boards (either a P4P800 or P4C800) for a decent price. I was in my Mac phase during the P3/P4 era, so I'm looking to build a Q4 2003 rig. I have a Northwood 3.2 and 4x256MB of Corsair XMS 400MHz DDR to go in it, and an FX5950 Ultra and SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum... all I need now is the mobo! 😊
How does it go with overclocking? Relatively stable? I'm tossing up between the P4P/P4C and the MSI 865PE Neo.
I too was 'late to the party' for P4. My XP gamebox is a P4P800SE with Northwood 3.00GHz and 7600GS; I didn't find anything to remark about it other than inspect the caps carefully, and be aware of a heads-up on the ICH5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I/O_Controller_Hub#ICH5

Good call on the heads up about the ICH5. I think I partially fried an older P4P800 like this (using front USB)...everything was working great until I reconnected my front USB ports one day and used them with a flash drive....after that I kept having strange intermittent problems with booting...was really sad..I have since decommissioned that setup and have that older board somewhere (kept it for parts) ..so I went and got another one a couple years later from a local classified ad and have since tried it a couple times and it still works great. I even have a P4P800-VE (mATX version) almost new in a box that I am planning a build for as well.

I have the exact same parts just waiting to be put together!!..But I am not sure if I am going to use my P4P800 or my P4P800-VE board..depends on which case I am going to use. I also may go with a 6800GS AGP 8X card or what I used for 8 years in my last P4 build - my ATI AIW 9600Pro 8X AGP card.
The P4P800 is good with overclocking from what I have heard, but I personally do not overclock, especially on older hardware like this...I just don't see the point, because the 3.2GHz CPU is more than fast enough for the Win98 build I have planned for it and for anything else needing a faster computer, I opt to just use one of my Core2Duo setups. But besides the strange ICH5 front USB problem some of these boards have, they are rock solid and highly reccommended.
They all have bad caps and DDR slots oxidization. Still I have 1 24/7 PC on P4P800 SE (torrents downloading/seeding, Voodoo2 testing, Inet serfing) and it's almost alive (dead PS/2 mouse port after I hot-plugged mouse) after all these 9 years...
Recently picked up an FX 5950 Ultra, and a mATX KM266-based Socket 462 board (with universal AGP slot). Neither has arrived yet, and I'm not sure if they're going together - the idea of AthlonXP (actually probably an MP, I have a 2600+ which is near the fastest 266FSB K7) + Voodoo5 in an mATX build is tempting, despite not owning a Voodoo5. The 5950 Ultra may go in my dual-Xeon - currently I've got 6800 Ultra in there because 5800U was getting stupid hot running "light" games that don't prompt the clocks to bump and the fan to turn on. It apparently hates positive pressure. 😒 6800 has no such problems, and runs cool, so in it went. 🤣
Not sure how servicable it is but time will tell...

Apparently 32-bit is dead and nobody likes P4s. Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉

Interesting that the 5950 gets that hot...must be why they put such a huge heatsink and fan on it (on the models I own). When I get a chance to put together my P4 AGP Win 98 rigs, I will have to give both of my 5950 ultra and 6800 ultra a try.
Picked up a couple more items off eBay...
ATI Radeon HD 3650 512MB DDR2...
Another Extron switching unit. This one does 4 port VGA with audio. This may be the best VGA switcher I have compared to all my KVM's...I will add it to the list to test out with all my KVM's I own
Sega GameGear with some games included (screen is dim ... may need a recap)
