That makes sense given the speeds fans from 90s / early 00s PCs run at and the relative quality of the materials / design, fans are technically a wear item 😀

I didn't buy this but I found it in my parent's basement when I helped them move recently. I was shocked to see it. My parents bought my brother and I this back around 1994 or so for our 386 PC. I remember the price was $150 😳 It later went into a 486. In 1999 we did a major upgrade to Pentium 3 and this card was buried in their basement since then.... until now 😁

As for me, I received a box of unknown ISA cards today and the only really good card in there was yet another TSENG ET4000AX card.

The rest were all modems and network cards and a single Mitsumi CD-ROM controller card.

Worst box of random box of cards I have gotten by far... at least it wasn't a total bust.

the dual OPL2 is only supported by a very small amount of games - and all of them are from an area where they have GM/MT32 support so there is absolutely no benefit

Got an ASUS P5A-B with an above average 233MMX which seems capable of running 300@120x2.5(speedsys is a bit out of the loop here). I have to test the setup more thoroughly though.
Pretty cool, but bus speeds are not that fancy when compared to 83mhz boards.

I once ran a P233MMX at 3.5x100MHz on a DFI MVP3 board accidentally. I'd previously had a K6-2 550 installed and forgot to adjust the FSB. So given the first two multiplier bits (which the P55C understands) are the same for 5.5x as for 1.5x/3.5x, it was set to 350MHz. And it ran. Happily. At stock voltage. And stable. It also felt a bit quicker than a K6-2 350 I had had earlier, but this was in UT99, which is FPU-intensive, so that's no surprise.

350 is pretty astounding! All 166/200/233 are easy to overclock to a certain extent but, clockspeedwise, a wall is soon confronted... thus 350 being really unique.
I like the MMX cpus when compared to the K6 as latter always had that "hot air" feeling to it.

interesting! for some reason, deep in the recesses of my memory, I always thought the RAP-10 was a drum machine. How's it compare with the LAPC/SCC?

A large-ish lot of old cards showed up at the local Craigslist (Marktplaats). Even though I promised myself (and my girlfriend) to not buy any more 'crap', there were too many goodies in the picture. All tested and 'broken' though, so it might be a dud. But I paid 15 euros...

I love the Asus V3400TNT, even with the wrong heatsink. I bought one new back in the day and loved it 😀 If I remember correctly it should have a fan though...

Picked these up today after winning an auction on eBay... for a whole £16. A Carrera PC Tower and Toshiba TekBright CRT monitor.

Gave the exteriors a quick clean but they need a proper going over as unfortunately they do smell a bit of cat wee 😵

Inside is pretty tidy and surprisingly clean. It's got a Pentium II MMX 350MHz, 256MB PC133 SDRAM, 4GB Western Digital HDD, Floppy, CD-ROM, a network card and these two:

No idea about these cards.

Booted into someone else's Windows first time... I checked the last time any files were altered - 2004! The monitor was a bit crackly at first, but it seems fine now.

I've managed to snag a 3dfx Velocity 100/Voodoo3 8MB AGP video card for less than what they usually go for.

I haven't been able to test it since the few AGP 3.3V machines that I have are in use and my only spare motherboards (for now) are 1.5V only. The seller mentioned that it works so there's no rush in testing it myself. At least now I have another 3dfx card for my video card collection.

A motherboard that has a Universal AGP slot would suffice as well. I have a DFI KM266Pro-MLV motherboard that has a Universal AGP slot that works with 1x, 2x, and 4x AGP cards with no issues (which is surprising to me and I haven't seen a Universal AGP slot since the Athlon XP days).

Do you need an XT for these drives to be able to test since it's pre-IDE or at least the controller? This looks like one in an XT clone I bought.
