I don't have time to handle this but if someone else does: Re: Help for Motherboard I-Will P6NS (PPro Motherboard)

Ok will do. Replied to that post. I think since I found the archived site with manual jumpers and driver links can easily replicate the stuff if igna78 can not find a way to upload to this thread or a outside source.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. https://archive.org/details/@horun

I've been setting up my DOS system with a Voodoo1, which is pretty much my first real foray into the 3DFX realm. After much trial and error I found the correct version of a version of glide2x.ovl that works with my card, dropped it into the DOS path and everything's sweet. I can't see much in Vogons Drivers that caters to this Voodoo1+DOS scenario (nor could I find any specific help elsewhere online). So now that I have a card and .ovl that is correctly matched - is there any value in sharing this here, along with pics of my card? Or is this not something that competent people struggle with?

The OVL files are not card dependent. Some games work with some GLIDE version OVLs and just refuse others, so it's a bit of trial and error I'm afraid.

Hmm ok. I'd read some comments around the place to the effect of "you need the right OVL for your card." And it just so happened that finding the "right" one fixed all my non-launching games in one swoop, which confirmed that advice in my mind.

A dark art this is!

There are different drivers for different 3dfx card types, vendor doesnt matter, i add all ovl to my drivers and utils package - 3Dfx-drv - folder:
X58/i865/V880 - Yamaha7x4/AurealV1/2 pure Dos7.1- compatibility list/research/ultim. drivers configs, WIP- gurus needed

Im old goal oriented goatman, i care about facts and freedom, not about egos+prejudices. Hoarding=sickness. If you want respect, gain it by your behavior. I hate stupid SW limits, SW=virtual world, everything should be possible if you have enough raw HW.

I've uploaded the Win9x driver & demo disc for the Saitek R4 Force/Racing Wheel here: https://archive.org/details/saitek-r4

It's loaded with game demos which is obviously not suitable for the Vogons library. So I provided two zip files on that page:

  • Full disc content including demo games: R4_Full_Disc.zip (327MB)
  • Drivers & manuals only: R4_Drivers_Only.zip (26MB)

With either download, just run Saitek95.exe for the installer. Once the drivers are installed, you then need to go into joystick control panel, manually add a device, and select the Saitek wheel from the list.

I've uploaded the driver disc that came with a Genius Maxfire G-09D controller (Win98/2000/Me/XP) here: https://archive.org/details/genius-game-device (31MB)

This will have some overlap with the existing Vogons Drivers entry Genius Game Controller Drivers for Win95/98/NT/DOS. That one is a user compilation of archived drivers from the website; mine is a CD image with a unified installer and I don't expect the contents to be identical. Whether it's worth adding I will leave with you!

Hello all. I've archived the QuickRestore disc for a Compaq Presario 4800 series desktop, from circa 1997. I hadn't seen it online before so I thought someone might want it. Enjoy!

I'm afraid that bandwidth costs make it necessary to limit mass downloads.
Though indeed, FTP would be nice, as it would allow downloads directly to vintage machines.

We could also organize a torrent based solution. P2P surely will speed things up.
