I've done a lot of thread reading on here, and can't decide which is better.
A CT3600 for $11, or an AcerMagic S23A.
Or maybe neither of these? It'll be put into a 486DX2 system with ISA only slots, and I'll need an IDE connector on the sound card for a CD-ROM Drive. I'd like to not spend above say $25.

Can't go wrong with a Creative card to be honest.
Unless it is PnP and you don't have PnP BIOS. Read the sticker on your bios module - if it does not say PnP, CT3600 might not work. I tried CT3670 PnP on 486DX2-66 and I managed to get only FM sound (at first the rig didn't even want to boot).

It's not PNP, too old, it's from around mid 1993. So would have to use like Intel's PNP Driver thing.
Creative's Plug-n-Play Configuration Manager was the recommended way to use their cards in pre-PnP systems during the final days of ISA cards. They used to ship Intel's PnP Configuration Manager with early PnP cards, but went with the in-house CTCM/CTCU utilities later.

I think some sellers use stock photos (though I don't know what the CT8903 is).
