I used the one that Predator99 sent me. I think it's the 8kb version. I have used xtidecfg on the previous 12kb version but not on the one that Predator99 sent me. Maybe that was the problem?

Yes, I do. I took the file you sent me and flashed it to the EEPROM.

So to get this forward: I am almost sure this XT-IDE problem is only related to your main BIOS. Look in the BIOS Setup if there is something about "shadow RAM/ROM" and disable it all.

Try to switch to the orginal BIOS, not the one modified by me.

With this we start the XT-IDE-ROM from DOS. Not sure if this works from DOS, but it should at least display something. If there is a message from XT-IDE, we can simply add this call to the BIOS as workaround and we are also done...

I found some time and managed to do what you first suggested.

Put back the original BIOS and typed the command lines (please see screenshot attached).

I did not manage to extract the file that you sent. It seems to be damaged.

You are right, file seems to be damged during upload...here again

Output looks perfect, everything works.

Only left to put this call in your main BIOS (dont understand why it doesent load anyway). So If above image does not work I need the output of

I don't understand. How do I do that if the system does not start with that BIOS file?
FYI, by now I do have an ISA/PCI POST Card. Could that come in handy? Unfortunately, the user manual that came with it is entirely in Chinese. So don't really now how to use it.

You need to go back to a working BIOS of course....

As far as I can see the POST card has no use in your PC, there is no output on port 80. Put in a free ISA slot and see what happens...
