Hi. I've been modifying my GA-586HX 1.55 motherboard (adding USB functionality) and made a short in the process. There is a resistor above the keyboard connector which has been damaged and to replace, I need to know it's value. Unfortunately it's no longer possible to read color designation of the resistor, nor measure it with multimeter. Could somebody with the same motherboard check it for me? I would be most grateful. Thanks!

According to this page:

Q: What is the color or value of the resistor (R3) next to the keyboard connector?
A: Red-Red-Gold-Gold or 2.2 ohm 5% Tolerance.

Wow, thanks. I know about this page but hadn't any clue this kind of information could be there. It's exactly the value I was thinking of but was not sure. You helped a lot! Thank you again!

It is probably a resistor fuse, makes sense given it's placement.
