This pretty thing here:

cb0kDgzl.jpg

There seems to be a lot of Deskpro 2000 PPro variants.
So far I've managed to maybe find out its a 6180 model in the HVW2 variant (it came with a CL5446 and a 1.2GB HDD).
But don't take my word for it, I'm struggling to find ant confirmations.

What I want is the Softpaq and perhaps the Rompaq.
And if I remember correctly (from working with these beasts when they were cool) the disks are specific for different variants.
The HDD is ...wonky.... so I need the disks to install the setup to another drive (I think that's how you are supposed to do it).
Any attempts by me to search only shows the usual suspect sites....

So I hereby invoke the PPro gods on this forum!

I cannot read the labels on the board which are some what crucial as to figuring out what exact board it is....and the system it cam from.
With out that info is hard to steer you to the proper place here: http://cwcyrix.duckdns.org/ftp-archives/ftp.compaq.com/pub/ or here https://ftp.zx.net.nz/pub/archive/ftp.compaq.com/
Do not take this wrong but what did you take the mobo picture with ? (my antique CDMA phone comes to mind ;p ) You do know you can attach pictures direct here as long as you try to keep size down to a few MB in size....
Nevermind on the picture. Hate Imgur... it would not let me open full on an older FF.....

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Wow, those are some extensive archives.
Thanks!

Now to get an exact ID =)

Just snapped a pic with my phone (pixel 6a).
Click the pic and you should get a much larger one, I can certainly read the small print.

Yeah your picture is fine, was my browser not co-operating 😀 Attached the expanded label as it may be helpful to find the board.
Tomorrow will dig thru and see what I can find...

Huge thanks!
Have not tried it yet, but with all the info I'm sure I can manage =)

The company I worked for at that time (mid to late 90's) had about 500 or so Compaq's of various models.
My favorites were obviously the PPro ones, especially the Matrox equipped 200MHz ones =)
This one is most likely not one I managed, I always used to include the floppy disks and manuals inside the computer.
Saving lots of time when you inevitably had to replace the HDD...

If you're still looking, I've added appropriate Setup/Diagnostic softpaqs (sp12906 / v10.39 Rev A and sp16085 / v10.40 Rev A) - reason I added both is that the later version removes Setup as a menu option on (then?) current products, so one or both should be OK.

Astonishing search-fu! /bow
Diskettes made, partitions created and OS is installed (NT4, what else?=).

Next up is to see if this newer firmware accepts my firegl 3000 card.
Got a soft spot for old CAD machines =)

CMOS battery was dead of course, so I replaced the soldered on "BR2335" with a holder for a normal 2032.
Future me thanks current me.
And its maxed out on memory, 192 glorious megabytes.
90's me would have drooled over such an overkill.

On the to-do list now is a deep clean.
And a few small repairs to the plastics.
