Is there a better MS DOS volume control for pro audio spectrum 16?
The PAS.EXE one is absolutely horrible. Plus it gives me Integer divided by 0 error every time i try to set/get volume.

It might be the wrong version for the card you're using. I thought it was awful too until I realised I was using a newer version than I should have been, it actually works very well.

Try the one I uploaded to vogon drivers - you need the right version of MVSOUND.SYS too.

I am using it in my Vectra pc. The card FCC ID is : IXW-PAS16NS
It used to work flawlessly before in the same PC, but now after uninstall its giving me problems.

I tried the vogons drivers version (that worked before when i had W3.11) but same thing.
Run time error R6003 - Integer divide by 0

Tried PAS16 studio MVSOUND.SYS, but same thing.
SET/GET FM,MIC,etc works but every time i try to SET/GET VOLUME i get an error 6003. Than nothing works.

Expand that? What was that 'uninstall'?

Based on my own experience with that error, you most likely have an IRQ conflict with the "PAS" section of the card. Try using a different IRQ.

The "panel.exe" mixer that is included with TrakBlaster Pro should be usable otherwise.

I see. I will remove everything except VGA adapter and PAS16.
PAS16 is sitting at IRQ3 / DMA3 , while SBEMU is sitting at IRQ5, DMA1.

With what Sound Blaster standards is PAS16 compatible?

Is it a problem if my Video Adapter rests at IRQ15? I dont have IDE controller activated. I use SCSI, and i think it uses IRQ2.

Try just a bare-bones PAS configuration, adjusting the IRQ as necessary (e.g., device=c:\...\mvsound.sys d:3 q:7 s:0 m:0 j:0 t:1).

The MVD201 chipset found on the PAS16 variants is compatible with the Sound Blaster 2.0.

I think the power supply might be weak.
The computer some times starts and beeps 4 times, short pause, than 4 times again. It is using Phoenix BIOS and i didn't see anywhere what does 4 -4 -4 ... mean.

When i removed Matrox Ultima from the computer it didn't beep any more... I will try the card in another computer.

Exactly the same thing happens on Sound Blaster CT1690.
OPL3 when terminated emits a loud noise and it sounds very silent when operating.

What could be the problem here? I unloaded everything and it only starts up with Cute Mouse driver.

[E]

Seems to have been DMA problem of some kind.
CT1690 works fine now. Still goes crazy in LLSID.

Bac to PAS again...

For the computer errors, it was an PCI socket error with the video card, the contacts were dirty, solved that a long time ago.
Now, PAS16 still gives me the damn R6003 run time error.

As long as i dont try to set the volume the card works. Could this be a card defect?
