Added the Hardsid ISA clone, the ES1868_ISA8, and the Covox Stereo-on-1. Thanks Baleog for the links!

Heads up, wrong link on the new Covox entry.

Are these on the radar? https://electronics.dose.se/

He has a whole range of reproductions, some for sale on Tindie.

Ah, nice! Finally a modern Disney Sound Source clone that we can actually buy somewhere.

And an even more improved version is under development, and with FTL compatibility (including support for 9-pin joysticks) integrated as well! 😍

Thanks for sharing this one, @Pierre32!

The only thing missing is Stereo-on-One mode. Let's get in touch with him and request this feature as well! After all the work he has already done on this, that should be a relatively trivial feature to add, right?

I'm glad they weren't just new to me! I found the link when this video from DOS Storm popped up in my recommendations:

NEW Swedish Sound Blaster 1.5 Clone you can buy in 2023!

Thanks for sharing! I didn't know about that YouTuber yet. Can't have too many good YouTube channels about DOS hardware and DOS gaming. ☺️

If you're only counting repros in the first list that are still for sale, you'll have to delete Yucatan FX and QWave, they're both out of stock and Serda won't be making more as there are no more chips left. Bummer.

On top of all the repro stuff, there are also MIDI keyboards out there that you can connect to your PC that sound awesome too. You just need to have room! 😁 My Yamaha PSR-K1 with USB MIDI sits atop my dual monitors....

Is there anyone working on a clone of a Ensoniq Soundscape Elite?

V

Don't think there's an easy way to clone one out. The OTTO chipset is probably impossible to source, the ROM isn't a big deal, but then the effects processing is a lot more complicated. Very complex card with its own digital section. Would be orders of magnitude more complicated to clone than the AdLib Gold was. I love the Ensoniq cards but it would be on of the harder cards to clone. Usually these cloning projects start when you can source the original chips, and if not maybe it can be done with FPGA or CPLD but that takes a lot of work.

Does Picomem including Adlib emulation if you add a DAC to it count here? 😁 https://github.com/FreddyVRetro/ISA-PicoMEM

Semi-related: Picogus https://picog.us/ (?) whoops, missed it the first time I went thru the list.
