Hi,
I have a Win98 PC with an AWE64. It's been running great for some time using the default windows drivers.
I installed the AWE64 software suite from CD so I could play around with soundfonts. Now I'm stuck with awful reverb on sounds - for example if I play a game with speech, it's very echo-ey. Playing sounds like Asterisk, Critical Stop, Exclamation from Control Panel/Sound are also like this. The AWE control utility only seems to affect Midi Syth, how do I turn off the reverb (and probably chorus) on the digital playback - it's completely overdone and sounds terrible.
Thanks,
J

From memory...
Open up Volume and hit Advanced under the main control slider
and you see options for Reverb?

It's WaveSynth/WG software that is causing these reverb effects, the best way is to solve this is to remove it (or disable) thru Device Manager. If you want to keep that software then open the Creative Mixer application and you'll see a slider related to reverb on the right side in Wave and MIDI volume sliders.

Thanks, I looked at WaveSynth/WG first. The reverb was set to Hall, I set it to None, and then disabled it in Device Manager for good measure. All good now, thanks!
