I'm trying to install tornado on my computer w/windows XP. It says I need to change my buffers from 0 to 20 in the config.sys file. I've tried to do it in the command prompt for Dos but windows pops in with a caution then says "windows cannot open this program". I hate windows and how do I get it to stop interfering w/Dos so I can change my settings?

Well I found the edit config screen(C:>edit config.sys) and it says:
files=40
buffers=30

But when I go to the install screen it says
Needed to run game
files/buffers 30/20

You have
files/buffers 40/0

WTF????

C:\config.sys is ignored by default; it's actually looking at "C:\windows\system32\config.nt" instead. Most likely, this file doesn't even have a BUFFERS setting, so you'll have to add one.

Well, I went into that screen and added the line "buffers=30" directly under the files=40 line and it still says I have no files under the install screen. What am I doing wrong?

use DOSBox.
winXP and dos programs don't mix very well.
