New to the forum and relatively new to DOS (been getting into it only this past year)

I recently grabbed a Compaq 1130T laptop on the cheap and decided to make it my DOS machine. There's no sound card so I figured I'd use my SC55MKii to run midi out of the serial port when playing games like Doom. Only problem is, I can't seem to get the two to work together 😅

I'm running DB9 from the laptop to DIN8 in the SC. I can get midi to communicate between the two with Voyetra SPG but anytime I try running Doom, I can't get them to communicate.

I'm running MSDOS 6.22. I've tried running softmpu to no avail.

I've patched a handful of protected-mode drivers and executables for RS-232 MIDI output that can be used with your serially-connected SC-55mkII. Here is the relevant post concerning DMX-based titles, such as Doom:
