Hi

I would very much like to fly good old Su-27 Flanker ver 1.5 simulator in WinXP but the sounds are missing.

My PC:
Asus A7V333 mother board
AMD Athlon 1800 (~1.5GHz)
1G 333MHz RAM
GF4 Ti4200 64M VRAM
SB Live! Value

WinXP Home sp2

HOTAS
CH FighterStick
Saitek X35T throttle
Logitec FFB wingman pedas

If I inflight mode hit two-three times the CTRL+S keys (sound on/off toggle), the sounds appear for few sec and fade again.

I tested the win95/98 modes for the su27.exe(mission editor) and FSIM.exe (simulation) files but still no sounds 😢

11M stand alone pack (abandon ware)
LINK REMOVED

HOTAS
I combined with PPjoy/PPjoyjoy virtual-stick driver/mixer my three usb controls (stick, thorttle & pedals) to one 4-axis control, which Flanker can accept.

Any hints to look after?

Hi,

I have the same problem. I´m a fan of this old sim, but no sound under Win XP. Perhaps would be interesting found the DOS version of Flanker 1.5 in order to run it with DosBOX.

Yes, there are but no nt4sndpatch.zip patch file from 26.01.1999.

nt4sndpatchReadme.txt

"Patch to get sound in Flanker 1.5 on Windows NT 4.
--------------------------------------------------

Extract nt4sndpatch.exe and winmx.dll into
x:\program files\su-27 flanker

Run nt4sndpatch.exe. If all goes well, you
should end up with a new file called
fsim.lbb.new in the directory.

Rename the existing fsim.lbb file to something
like old-fsim.lbb and then rename fsim.lbb.new
to fsim.lbb.

Run flanker as normal.
