You might want to tell your mate on the dxwnd forums that the installer can probably be modded for the pentium edition.
I might have a look at it later, but I guess I didn't really see the point when Titanium was the last and most complete release.

According to DxWnd framerate overlay - yes. Didn't Direct3D mode work for you?

About the Pentium edition, I restarted on it - he is open to remove the sdb installation dependency (integrating IgnoreScheduler) + the game needs EmulateHeap to be stable in mission exit and enter and I would want to have a subset of it (on Win11 22H2+ it could cause issue)

Okay but why did you rename MECH2.EXE to mw2tit.exe for this?

There is still some things wrong.

First it didn't copy the DPLAY.DLL (I mentioned to copy from CD on my original post, but copying the one from SysWOW64 seems to be better in general).

I copied it, now it displays yet another error. It was caused by a file, that after a proper installation appears in another form. I attached it in attachment, but I can't tell if its specific to my machine or works on yours too. You can try it yourself.

Didn't think that far ahead.

You can try opening the files with a Hex editor. I think you'll see a difference there. O tried to copy the cd file to the folder and the mission doesn't run, but with this file they run

fc is a windows command dating back to early DOS.
It compares 2 files.
If it says there are no differences, there are no differences.

Not really. The first byte is even different, then check Line 108.
(Left is the one from installation, right one from CD)

Your own guide literally says to copy the files directly from the CD.
Which you implied works.
How exactly are you changing the first byte of that file in that process?

I noticed that too. In fact this works in Windows 10. I have to see what happened in Windows 11 that stops this from working.

Works properly.
Only annoying thing is I can't figure out how to get CDaudio.
Nothing I tried worked.

I can get the CD audio working here. I will need specifics, which mission type, which contract...

What settings do you use?
It never worked. On any mission. Not once beginning to end.

Check in Instant action. Run DxWnd and keep View -> CD player monitor open and check for this (you can see the track16 is being played and the CD volume mixer is at 100%, that can be changed from in-game):

It MUST be the first CD by letter.
