This should work (I think):
https://1drv.ms/u/s!As-dKk-N73dSmFTJxa-_LQ4gjmZh?e=oCb2tg

The physical to linear address mapping should be OK. It should work just like the real mode app.

The ROM won't be dumped. Your registers list it as 0x000000 (Rendition ROM Address is 00000000)

You should run it anyway because I want to be sure the new 32 bit test harness works just like the 16 bit version.

sharangad, isn't this the bios you are trying to get?
Re: Rendition Verite Thread

Not exactly. That file's 64 KB. V2000 series chip specification list a 128 KB BIOS with the microcode start address at the end somewhere.
Will check.

It's entirely possible the chip supports up to 128 KB, but only comes with 64 KB.

This should work. I wasn't using the appropriate DPMI call(https://www.delorie.com/djgpp/doc/rbinter/id/23/58.html) to convert a real mode DOS pointer (4 bytes 16:16) into 32 bit protected mode pointer (6 bytes, 16:32).

[EDIT] It still won't dump the BIOS. Once again, you need to run it anyway to make sure the 32 bit test harness works correctly.[/EDIT]

Thanks!

As expected the ROM is garbage.

Well at least the 32 bit app can do everything the old 16 bit app did.

I'll get you a fresh build in a minute or two which tests something else, which vquake needs. I still need to figure out why it exits with a microcode error.

I also need the bin files. There's one for every display mode. I don't remember seeing accelerated modes before. But you've got them now and I would like to know what those modes are so dosbox can add support for them.

I've given up on the BIOS for now.

[EDIT] The accelerated modes might be a bug.[/EDIT]

[EDIT2]I still need the vquake response. [/EDIT2]

Thanks. The accelerated modes are duff. It just gains a selector in 32 bit mode. I need to fix that.

I think the vquake call might be passing the address of a buffer in es:di. Need to look at that in a bit.

Try this:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!As-dKk-N73dSmFiB_lL9jy8iIk9h?e=Wqocki
MD5: 457e9f4b368e0e93cab2756c2f07d0c2

This should check RAM contents in the vQuake call.

The mode dump and a lot of the logging should be gone.

OK, so that call doesn't return anything, apart from clearing the parity bit.

I'll do a full instruction dump of vquake to find out why it fails.

One for tomorrow. Thanks @Raven-05.

This should dump EDI instead of DI for the vQuake call. There's supposed to be a protected mode entry point in there.

Nope, EDI is zero.
[EDIT] https://www.delorie.com/djgpp/doc/rbinter/id/81/23.html
Ah is B1 which means the call failed.

Sourceforge project for Dosbox-Rendition.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/dosbox-rendition/

The build there will do what the dosbox youtube video does, with this version of RReady.

Please note this that not a single game currently runs. This is purely for the curious and hungry:

RLauncher must be running at all times!

(Dosbox included, source at sourceforge).

Please, please note nothing actually works yet!

[EDIT] If it doesn't run, try creating a temp folder on your C: drive. I need to get rid of this dependency and default to the Windows temp folder. This is just a quick and dirty build.[/EDIT]
