Game: QQP's WW2: Battles of the South Pacific

I have:
DOSBox version .65 in VGA mode.
AMD Turion 64 x2 moblie 1.60 GHz, 1 gig of ram
GeForce Go 6100 with 256 megs of video memory running in its default mode.
Windows XP Media center edition
On board sound card

When I run WW2, all the black colors in the graphics appear pink.
I tried changing the video mode in the config file to svga.
The problem occurs every time I run the game.

Could it be I need to run DOSBox in 256 Color mode?
