I was following Dominus' Win 3.1x on DOSBox guide. The windows environment looked bad.

AST Advantage! 9308:
Pentium 166
48MB EDO RAM
Integrated S3 ViRGE 325 2MB
Integrated YMF701 with wavetable synthesizer
Diamond Monster 3D

that guide is for the upcoming dosbox version.
be conservative in what you select for 0.65
(800x600x256 colours should be safe)

It actually works - that error you get when you put cycles to max or auto in 0.65. Set cycles pretty low - to 10 000 or so- and then manually increase them.
