Use a frontend like DOSBox Game Launcher or D.O.G

I don't think DOSBox Game Launcher is that great to get games installed. It is hard to comply with "You must enter a valid profile executable" when the game has yet to be installed.

Interesting point, does any frontend lead a hand when installing games?
Like setting up a directory to be mounted as c: as well as the
installation directory?

Thank you for the help getting me started. My game now runs...with one problem. It sounds terrible, like it has only 3 sound options. I have tried to figure out how to get it to sound like soundblaster or something else, but alas, this computer user is but an amateur to this configuration stuff.

Can anybody lend me a hand on how to get my sound to sound right? Thanks again everybody.

Instead of starting your game, can you copy the attached db-info.bat file to the game directory, and run that instead?

Then report back here with information on the SBlaster (Sound Blaster) settings?

Folder = Directory. Sounds to me like you have already saved it in the Dynamix directory.

I can mount my c drive and get the game running but its just the sound that is screwed up. When I get the c drive mounted and then try dbinfo.bat, dbinfo, or db info, it tells me its an illegal command. Sorry for being so uncomputer savvy, I'm just trying to play one of my old favorites. I tried to figure out how to adjust the sound from the game itself but dont see that option. Did I miss something while loading the game?

A very long list of items. I can only see from directories from "M" on down.

Oh you could at least TRY to understand how mounting works.
Play with it, create directories on your c drive (outside dosbox)
and put some files into it and mount that, type dir on those and
get an idea of the whole thing.

Otherwise this'll lead to nothing.

I asked for 3 things:

The output from the dir command.
You told me something about M...

The output from the mount command.
You gave me nothing.

The output from db-info if you mounted an X-drive.

Sorry it took me awhile to reply.

When i type DIR after mouting the C drive, I get a list of directories from the letter M on down.

When try to mount an X drive, the message says:
USAGE Mount Drive-Letter Local-Directory
So a MOUNT c c:\windows mounts windows directory as the c: in DOSOX

I cannot get it to mount an X drive.

DO NOT (!!!) in any case mount C:\windows as your DOSBox's "C" directory. You're giving DOSBox access to your system OS's directory, which could result in destroying your whole Windows installation.

When you type "dir" after mounting, do you really get a list of directories or rather a list of files starting somewhere from the letter "m"?
Try "dir /p" and/or make a screenshot (Ctrl-F5) and attach the file (located in your DOSBox\capture folder) to your post.

Now put DB-INFO.BAT in your Dynamix folder, and run it from DOSBox like this:

1C:\>X:DB-INFO.BAT

And post the result here?

Miniwax - Everything was going as you instructed but when I typed in the DB-INFO, it tells me its an illegal command.

In my DYNAMIX folder there is a zipped folder called db-info. When I click on it, it opens to a DOS format, says 'mount' is not a recognized command.
