I simply googled "aopen ftp" and found this http://usa.aopen.com/userdownload_declaration … 2262&Model=3099
Pick whatever you want ^^

Unfortunately, I'm unable to upload things to archive.org, it's way too glitchy for me using their webpage ...

I can download and upload that much no problem. Yay for unlimited data and a fast-ish connection.

When I downloaded the Sony ftp, it took a multiple days to download everything and then 4 days nonstop to upload to archive.org.
106 .zip files that are about 4.4GB each.

Hi there,
You are my last hope.
I am desperately trying to find the drivers for a laptop I just bought, a Vaio TX3.
I have tried to download the backup from archive.org but not having any luck.
These are the files I am looking for:
https://pastebin.com/qm2dZfjs
If you could help me out I would be indebted forever!

I have the backup of the Sony ftp up right now:
ftp://win98se.ddns.net

I also removed the torrent link from archive.org in the hopes that it would automatically remake it but it didn't.
You can download the files separately though if you choose to view all the files from the link on the right had side of the page.

Nope, it isn't up at the moment. I was using my router's built in ftp server but it kept flaking out. Now I have switched services and have a different modem/router combo. My new setup doesn't have a built in ftp server.

I do have a real server I plan to get set up as an ftp server at some point though.

I don't really want to set up an ftp server on my main computer but I might set up a small computer with that same external drive I was using with my other router in the meantime.

Hi Deksor, do you happen to also have the files for a TravelMate 6050? They used to be here: http://web.archive.org/web/20061201233036/htt … /tm6000_dl.html

Hey folks,

just noticed this thread and the fact that I must be one of the few people who mirrored the FIC FTP (and some others), shortly before they were shut down. Unfortunately I have very low bandwidth on upload, so it's not possible to upload them.

Below many of the FTPs I got a mirror of (some just partially, some downloaded from archive.org):

  • downloads.dell.com-bios-2016-05-28
  • ftp.3com.com_2005-10-03
  • ftp.3drealms.com_2019-08-30
  • ftp.abit.com.tw_2009-01-04
  • ftp.aopen.com (2016-11-21)
  • ftp.atari.com_2020-03-10
  • ftp.aureal.com_2001-01-29
  • ftp.biostar-usa.com
  • ftp.biostar-usa.com (2016-11-06)
  • ftp.bluebyte.com_2004-03-03
  • ftp.driver.jmicron.com.tw (2016-11-20)
  • ftp.ea.com_2012-05-06
  • ftp.fic.com.tw_2018-09-17
  • ftp.idsoftware.com_2014-03
  • ftp.lith.com_2014-01-31
  • ftp.lucasarts.com_2013-04-27
  • ftp.matrox.com
  • ftp.take2.de_2020-03-15
  • ftp.terratec.de_2014-06-11
  • ftp.tyan.com
  • ftp.ubisoft.com_2014-01
  • ftp.westwood.com_2016-07-17

I also know at least one who has a copy of ftp.asus.com.tw (~ 1 TiB).

The goal is to make the most important files (latest BIOSes, drivers, manuals, game patches) available on my website https://soggi.org/

BTW note:
Take the chance and mirror every manufacturer's FTP you can get a hand on...they will vanish / be shut down / go off-line one by one!

kind regards
soggi

Yes I do.

Here's what I've found. I don't know if it's of much help, but that's all I have got I think.

Thanks for the answer!
Unfortunately that's the files from the "newer" travelmate 6000; originally it was a Pentium 1 laptop produced by Texas Instrument, which then proceeded to sold its laptop business to Acer (so, the "original" TravelMate line was actually from TI, Acer just repurposed the name!).
Anyway, unfortunately neither TI's files nor Acer's files are archived on archive.org. I guess that's just too old of a laptop!

I also have a (very incomplete) AOpen FTP mirror from the same year, but it's not much of a priority right now.

there's a ton of stuff on the AOpen FTP, and it could go dark any day now - might want to back that one up too

Yeah, my backup stops at /pub02/drivers/ somewhere and I stopped since because the TW server would throttle at 12Kb/s then stop at random. Then I would alternate between AOpen's four FTP mirrors for the data. I was almost done with pub02, too...

What I have now for AOpen's FTP server seems to be nearly 50GB now. I should grab /pub03/ before getting the rest of /pub02/, but I will have to find another machine to continue this process from.

thank you for your time and effort.

I have a copy of FIC FTP.
12.6GB, made some years ago when I was into archiving stuff.
Also have some stuff from S3, Elsa, Terratec and others.

If bandwidth is an issue, how about if someone sent you a few flash drives by snail mail ? You could fill them up and mail them back to someone with fast unlimited Internet .

EDIT : How many GB is it in total ?

Actually many things are a problem...

- bandwith (will be upgraded from copper to fiber in the next months, maybe ~10 MBit upload then)
- time (!!!)
- space

I know people who have a backup of ASUS, HP, etc. FTP...but they are very huge (over 1 TB). My own FTP collection has a size of some hundreds of GB.

BTW has anyone a copy of the Albatron FTP? Didn't manage to save it back then... 😒

kind regards

im trying to get at the drivers for the Aopen AX3S-U (PRO)
trying to use this board for win98(FE) and the drivers i have downloaded previously were for win98(SE)
(i have some midi interface that only works properly in the first edition of win98 + prior, the driver is incompatible with win98SE specifically because the company went out of business before 1999 when SE was made and i guess SE introduced some type of change to the driver model

hoping to get specific win95/98FE drivers for the Aopen AX3S-U from somewhere?
i remember the aopen support website was always up + down during the last few years
sometimes it worked + sometimes it didnt.. i think i burned a cd of all the drivers but cant find 😒
hoping to find that cd i burned of the drivers but i probably didnt include the versions i need this time

if anyone can point me in the right direction to find these files id appreciate 😉
or a working mirror of the Aopen support site
https://global.aopen.com/products_download.aspx?auno=102
when i click downloads the page never loads like it used to anymore

https://global.aopen.com/Museum.aspx seems to be the root index
