I'm working with the source files from the "3Dfx Glide2 & Glide3 Diagnostics Kit" but it lacks any makefiles for building drivers. As it says in the readme, this is a development kit for Glide2 and Glide3 and was never intended for building drivers. It has some files from what would have been the driver tree but it is incomplete.

I've read online about the Amigamerlin and Evolution drivers but it's unclear whether these are modded reference drivers or newly compiled ones. I also can't find information as to their authors and who to contact regarding questions on compiling drivers from source.

Does anyone know if there is a working source tree for building 3dfx drivers?

From what I understand, much of the third party compilations and Glide variants are a result of ports from the Glide Open Source Project and not a new compilation of the drivers.

One of the things I am trying to do is recompile 3dfxvsm.sys for Windows 2000 to add logging and to address a bug regarding the SLI clock for a Voodoo 5 when on the PCI bus (not AGP). This does not appear to be an issue with the Windows 9x drivers.
