I'm having troubles getting my CM-32L to work with One Step Beyond. When I launch the game in DOSBox with "shut -lapc1", the MIDI Message light on my CM-32L will flash just before the game starts and before each level, but the game still uses AdLib for the music and nothing is output from the CM-32L (there is also no activity from the MIDI LED when ingame or at the start menu).

My Roland CM-32L works fine in other games such as T.F.X, Inferno (basically any other game that supports a Roland MT-32/LAPC-1) but One Step Beyond won't use it.

Any any ideas?

Info if needed:

# MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
# AMD FX-55 ClawHammer @ 2.6GHZ
# 2GB PC3200 DDR400 RAM
# MSI nVidia GeForce 7800 GTX 256MB
# SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS
# Windows 2000
# Game: One Step Beyond
# DOSBox version: 0.65

Thanks!

Try deleting the ONESTEP.CFG file first, then start the game. It'll ask you configuration questions.

Heh, I just figured that out actually - was just about to post saying so 😁

CM-32L track is far better 😁

Thanks!

EDIT: I may even record the ingame tunes and upload them for people to listen 😀
