Hello. I have recently bought this Toshiba Satellite Pro 420 CDT for MS-DOS gaming from ebay (https://tinyurl.com/54wdc73t), unfortunately the device arrived with some booting issues. Not sure whether posting to correct forums, but is there a chance that anyone would know why is this memory init message shown for like 2 minutes? (see screenshot).

After that it tries to load the actual FDD/HDD - without luck though - as it ends up with Insert system disc message. No matter if i put in any floppy disk (the fdd makes short noise and nothing else) or try to load the HDD. The HDD not loading might be because of some incompatible IDE->CF adapter (my CF is working as i have installed MSDOS via Virtual Box). I will try ordering different one (probably this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/304157543250?hash=it … K7UAAOSwplVgVyg~). Until it arrives i would like to resolve the memory message though.

Thanks,
Jiri

Possible floppy drive has bad capacitors or belt went liquid.
