Hey there.

I've recently downloaded dosbox 0.65, i think, to play Eye of the Beholder 1. I didn't tweak much of the config file or anything, but I did map the usual numpad key to move my character to the following keys:

UP, which is usually 8 on the numpa, to W
STRAFE RIGHT, which is usually 6 on the numpad, to D
ROTATE RIGHT, which is usually 9 on the numpad, to E

etc, etc... you get the point

I completed the first EOTB without any problem.

I install EOTB2, start it up, don't change anything in the config as I move my character, something really bothers me : When I press the letter "E" to rotate my character to the right, the key sometimes doesnt respond.

I test it for a while and there seems to be a real problem with it. Even if I go back to the number 9 on the numpad, so it's not my keyboard.

I try testing the keys in notepad and they work flawlessly. In game, ALL my other keys are working fine, but the ROTATE RIGHT function, take 1 or 2, sometimes THREE, times to respond. It is really anoying while playing and, I'm not a clicker, so it makes the game unplayable to me.

I need help! It's really wierd and came out of nowhere.

PS: I have the new version of march 2nd and the problem isn,t present in other games.

See that numlock is on BEFORE you start dosbox. Also why did you download
an old release instead of 0.70??

I remember this might be a bug in EOB2 (it has been posted somewhere on the forum sometime). It behaves the same for real hardware, under real ms-dos. Tested both Spanish (I have the original) and English versions.

I really don't know, I got an urge to play my old rpgs and found a link to that release first, don't ask my why! I tried having numlock on before starting dosbox doesn't help it.

for el_pusher, do you remember if there were any fix or whatever I could use or will I have to go ol fashioned clicking.. I guess there isn,t much I can do since it's not dosbox fault.

I find it really wierd that a mainstream game had this big of a flaw and everywhere i read about the game it isn,t mentionned.
