I’ve recently got an ET4000AX Isa card and noticed it’s got 80ns DRAM
Would it be a worthwhile upgrade to swap out the ram for 70ns DRAM? Looking at the jumper settings for the card, it’s already set for ‘turbo display memory access’

probably wont see any increase. your constrained by the isa bus speed, not so much memory speed on the card.

Only relevant if you overclock the graphics card to get higher refresh rates on CRT.
But usually increasing decoupling capacitance is sufficient if problems occur.

I swapped the dram and, as you all said, it made no difference to the doom framerate!
Card will not know that it has faster memory, there will have to be some other configuration change done too to make things work faster. BIOS hack or change of some configuration strap if present.
