this runs slow in official dosbox 0.70 @ 80,000 cycles... but runs fine and dandy @ 20,000 and possibly lower.

in ykhwong's build it runs fine at 80,000 cycles.

why? is it because of "Fix for speedlock + pcspeaker | Created by ykhwong"

Well, besides from it being interesting from a code point of view, I don't see any problems. Cosmic was designed to run on a 386 which means anything under 10 000 cycles will make it run more than fine.

yes, but what is the thing between the 2 versions of dosbox that makes it run fine at super high cycles?

ykhwong uses many patches the normal 0.70 doesn't have. On top of that, his builds incorporate new code while the 0.70 vanilla will keep having the same code. It's possible some custom code allows for more cycles in certain games.
