My first EG465AX. I have three 365W ones so far.
I love them. Strong 5v, 3.3V, -5V and -12V. Good fans. Can barely hear them. And heavy as a rock. You can beat someone to death with them.
The 465W version even has a 6pin PCIe plug. PCIe plug in combination with -5V is really strange. 😁
Won the auction for 5€. 10€ with shipping. I'm a bit surprised I got it so cheap. I often got outbid on the 365W, where I usually bid 10€ with shipping.

A GeForce2 MX 400 with 64MB form Abit for my time machine.
3Dmark run fine. But on the second run through it started stuttering. Heatsink was extremely hot. Is this one broken or this normal for passive GF2MX?

DFI K6XV3+/66.
This one isn't mine. It's property of Hirsch. I did place a last second bid for him, because he was at work. Accidentally forgot to change the shipping location, so it was sent to me. But doesn't matter that much, because he will be here during Christmas anyway.
At least he got time to polymod my K6XV3+/66 now. So I took over the testing for him. Couldn't find any issues.
But the jumpers were set wrong! Underclocked and overvolted. Luckily I did check them, before I powered it on.

Not at all normal for a GF2 MX, might be time to repaste it and throw a fan on the heat sink.

Not possible to throw a fan on it. It would block the top PCI slot.
I'll need every PCI and ISA slot. Voodoo2 SLI, Voodoo1, 3com NIC (via riser cable), AWE32, GUS and a 3rd sound card. 😜
I don't have that much space in my little apartment, so I need to put as much into the rig as possible.
Yes, this will end up being a really expensive rig. I'm well aware of that. But I'm not in a rush.

I did check it again. Now it runs fine.
Maybe some dust on the contacts or didn't sit in the slot properly. Dunno.

Keep an eye on it in any case, its an older GPU so at some point in the near future itll need some new TIM just to keep it throwing heat the right direction.

I received this Geforce FX 5950 yesterday which I bought on ebay. Windows XP setup runs without problems and the windows desktop looks fine after booting. After some minutes in idle mode or some seconds in 3Dmark03 it starts throwing artifacts. (Tested on KT333 and Nforce2 Ultra.) It seems that the card has some thermal issues. Let's see whether the seller is willing to refund since he sold the card as "tested and working, without any warranty".

1. The 3rd party coolers on those sucked even when new.
2. Have you repasted it yet?

The zalman vf-1000 is a great cooler for these cards.

I haven't repasted the card since the seller accepted a refund. If repasting doesn't solve the problem the seller might reject the refund after sending the card back. Good to know that the Zalman VF-1000 works for these cards, too. I had a look at an Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 4 before, but these are rare nowadays.

Picked up these extras (five bux on Ebay) for the Cardinal SNAPplus ISA video capture card I've been archiving over the years. There is one disk that has a slightly older version of the Windows 3.1 software I don't have in the archive. Always on the hunt for variants.

I went on a bit of an ebay rampage over the last couple of days.

Ordered the following:
Dell Geforce 440MX 64BM AGP
Asus Radeon 9200 128MB AGP
EVGA Geforce 5600XT 256MB AGP
Shuttle HOT591P Super 7 AT motherboard
Intel DQ77 + i5 3470 + 4GB DDR3
Startech Wireless AC PCI-E card

My stock of old AGP cards with DVI has dwindled so I ordered a few inexpensive ones that hopefully all work decently. The Super 7 board is going to upgrade my K6-2 machine to a board with AGP and the wireless card and intel board/cpu/ram are for my TV computer.

Attached are pics from the ebay listings.

Just bought an ASUS A7V600-X for £21 shipped. I asked the seller if it's working, and he said he thinks so, but will refund me happily if it isn't. VIA KT600 / VIA VT8237 chipset, so should be good for Athlon XP. Don't think it supports anything earlier than Morgan (Duron) or Thunderbird (Athlon) but should be good for testing all my later skt A chips. Might be good for testing the abundance of PATA drives I have as well.

Never understood why a board that supports DDR RAM would have 3 slots though, but that seems normal for the time. Guess I'll max it out with 2 GB for best performance.

Seller's pic. Looks like it needs a good clean when it arrives.

I scored one of the rare 3200+ Bartons (Fabbed 19th week of 2003, after the 39th week they removed the contact pads) that can be unlocked via the pencil mod as they still have the contact pads on the substrate, never thought I would see one in the wild and the board it came with is a EPoX EP-8RDA+Pro which I have yet to fire up and find out what its capable of.

Its also the kit I got the PCI Radeon 7500 64mb from.

I don't unnerstand that wireless Armor Class crap, one AC450 router stood up to 3 whacks of a Model M, but an Armor Class 2400 model just about exploded with a light tap.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Saw a 4mb ET 6000 and a 4mb ET6100 for sale from a Russian seller and grabbed them both to add to me collection of ET 4000 cards !

Saw they also had a Vortex 2 8830 B0 Rev A ... been wanting one of these so added that to the order.

BitWrangler likes to play Baseball with their routers !

Naturally a Model M keyboard is used as the bat for that truly vintage old time baseball feel.

I got it to install (the drivers using the control panel) after I got the power brick situation fixed.

Good news: it works in WFW 3.11

Bad news: doesn't work with DOS anything still and the install.exe doesn't work still.

I have a hunch that I need the 3 diskette set to get the adapter to work correctly.

I'm sure someone on the forum has a complete set. Cyclone3D IRRC had one.

I sent him a DM and I haven't received a response yet. The holidays are getting closer here, so I'll wait until the holidays are over to get a response.

On the plus side, they do produce sound and FM in WFW 3.11, even the yellowed and loose knob one.

I'll search some more. Maybe I found a bad driver.

So you could add more memory modules 😜
The manual does state that to use more than 2 DIMMs, it would not run at 400MHz.
Being able to mount more than 2 DIMMs on a motherboard of that era was quite common for the board to then not to be able to run it at its maximum rated speed. Iirc some SDR boards were also like this.

I bought a Shuttle motherboard around 2005 which had three DDR1 memory slots. The manual clearly stated that anything more than two modules would automatically be downclocked. It was never stable no matter what I did with more than two.

I don't have this motherboard anymore, unfortunately. It would have been fun to see if I could have worked it out all of these years later.
