Hi folks, I have the following 386 board from JCI, it seems. On the top left of the picture it has the following markings:
JCI-S2S H∆ 94V-0E42910 9145
I've dumped the BIOS with NSSI (attached), ROMs and CMOS data. The boot screen reads: D386-1187-010191-KF.
The two bottom slots reads: SL1 (8 bit ISA) and SL17 (probably 32-bit RAM card?).
Can you help me identify it?
Haven't found this one, but I think the 1187 code matches that board from the other day, and that was listed on Ultimate Retro as 'EISA Tech Corporation'. It's also got the same sticky labels (warranty void if removed, BIOS serial) and the same TI chipset. So seems likely to be the same company. Not sure that really helps as I haven't found anything else about them.

Is it an "EISA Tech Corporation" with the code 1187? Idk, but there is no evidence to prove it otherwise.

Alpm, Just thought, any markings on the backs of this board, or that other 386 one ( "CMOS inoperational System Halted" error on Unknown 386 board )? Maybe an FCC marking? Pictures of board backs are handy for ultimate retro anyway.

I'm unsure, all I know is that the boot screen shows " D386-1187-010191-KF" at the bottom.

Great point! I will post pictures of the back of these boards. The one from this post has two bodges on it + a cut pin on a chip.
While I don't post them, I checked and there are no markings on the back of them 🙁

- I think this board has no cache on it.
- Mine has a 40Mhz xtal on it (20Mhz CPU)
- SL1 is actually SL17, SL1 is the 8-bit ISA on the left of it.

I always like the boards that have a socketted 386SX.
Although it looks to be manufactured in late 1991, the sticker indicates it was sold in 1993, which is pretty darn late for a 386SX-20.
This is also the first time I've seen the TI chipset used on a 386SX.
It might be interesting to see if this board can handle 40MHz and how it performs.

I always like the boards that have a socketted 386SX.
Although it looks to be manufactured in late 1991, the sticker indicates it was sold in 1993, which is pretty darn late for a 386SX-20.
This is also the first time I've seen the TI chipset used on a 386SX.
It might be interesting to see if this board can handle 40MHz and how it performs.
I've ordered a 33Mhz AMD 386. Will test with it when it arrives and update here (it may take a while, since the product is in Hungary and I'm in Brazil). Will check if I can source a 40Mhz 386 + 80Mhz xtal locally too.
