Hi,
I have a Promise DC4030VL-2 I/O card and would need bios files for it.
The card has 3 chips:
The upper one which says VL-2 E R4:50
The middle one VL-2 O R4:50
The lower one VL-2 X R4:44 BUGFIX
The upper and middle chips are 27c512pc-15 ( 64k x 8 ) and the lower is toshiba TMM27128D-20 ( 16k x 8 )
Clearly the bottom chip is not original and someone made it tweaked file, if i remember correctly the card was last used on a linux machine.
Problem is i can't get card to work on my 486DX4 100MHz dos computer.
The card has 4 pcs of 1MB memory combs.
I read on the web that during the card boot phase, when checking the cache memory,
F2-key would enter the card bios but there was no notifications or any access to the card at boot phase.
I think I made it worse when I tried file "SIADDR.EXE" on driver disk, it gave me a choice of 6 different options for some memory addresses
and when I selected first option there was a notification that the data was updated and the machine booted,
after that always when this card is connected to my computer the machine will not boot. After the Ram memory check, the disk drive
will make noise and computer freezes.
I have disables every option on my bios to see if some setting are conflict with DC4030VL-2 card but no luck.
At moment i have only vga card in pci slot, no other card.
I try to find another memory modules to rule out broken memorys.
Could someone with the same card and chip reader to read me the content of all 3 chips?
My friend has LT866II plus chip reader/writer so i could get new chips and write data to them.
Any help is welcome, thanks.
