Is a Tualatin 1.4Ghz worth the trouble vs a Coppermine 133hz 1Ghz on a 440BX board? Specifically on a P3B-F rev 1.03. The Tualatin would need that Korean adapter soldered to it, or a slotket mod.

Would OC'ing the Coppermine fsb to 150hz narrow the gap?

Searching for benchmarks on Tualatin vs Coppermine on 440BX. Most compare the Tualatin to Pentium 4.

As soon as I get my 1400 MHz Tualatin-S , I will be able able to compare it running at 1050 MHz to my 1300 Mhz Tualeron on a BX board (100 MHz FSB, 512MB CL2 SDRAM)
I am currently using a Quadro FX1100 (FX5700 derivative), but also have a Radeon 9700 (somewhere).

I started a separate thread about some issues with the CPU --> Broken pin on socket 370 CPU. Still works but is it reliable ?

That extra/faster cache really does seem to offset a 250 MHz clock difference .
Too bad this board (Biostar M6TBD) does not go over 100 MHz FSB .

I think it is worth it only for the sake of having a Tualatin build, not to chase higher performance. 1Ghz Coppermine has plenty of speed to run all DOS games and Windows 9x games. It is not possible to have one fits all rig anyway, for Windows XP games at least Athlon 64 3200+ is needed.

I have a Tualatin 1.4 GHz on a CUBX-E with modded BIOS and it's not much of a hassle at all. Also using the Korean solder-on adapter and a modded BIOS that's here on the forums and is also available for the P3B-F afair. Works like a charm. But I have a soft spot for Tualatins, and depending on your intended use, a Coppermine 1 GHz might be sufficient for your needs.
