Hello,

Edited: So far I've tried running 2 games, Sim Copter and Dungeon Keeper (DirectX 3) and the same happens with both.

Sim Copter and Dungeon Keeper both run fine (though a bit slow on my P1), but after I exit the games normally, Windows 98 freezes with icons half rendered (not even Ctrl+Alt+Del works).

Any ideas what might help?

Nick

It's a Windows game that uses DirectX (pretty sure).

Update: I installed DirectX 9.0c (2004) which is the latest available for Windows 98, and this sadly didn't seem to fix the problem.

Edit: Here's how Windows looks when it freezes after the game exits.

What is all the hardware in the machine and what DirectX version did you start with?

I would stick to DirectX 7.0a or older with that hardware. Later versions can cause freezes with old VXD drivers. Rage Pro is a DirectX 5 level chip anyway. Use whatever the drivers specify or games require.

Rage Pro is also not exactly well known for great, stable drivers so you could be seeing problems from it. Maybe try some different versions.
