hello guys.

this is my second post, the first i was asking about an internal sound card in low profile (post now solved) for the fujitsu e910 desktop format i5-3470t. it will be dedicated to windows Xp, with the focus being on energy efficiency, with components from late Xp era that I say it is, 2009-2013. mid era being 2005-2009. early era 2000-2004.

i'm asking you guys to give your opinions regarding some low profile GPU from 2009-2013, under 50 watts TDP. here is what I found:
ATI RADEON HD 8570 1GB GDDR3/64 BIT
ATI RADEON HD 8490 1GB DDR3/64 BIT
ATI RADEON HD 7350 1GB GDDR3/64 BIT
ATI RADEON HD 7470 1GB GDDR3/64 BIT
ATI RADEON HD5470 1 GB GDDR3/64 BIT
ATI RADEON HD 5570 1 GB GDDR3/128 BIT
ATI Radeon R5 240 Low Profile, 1GB DDR3 64-bit
AMD Radeon R5 340x 2GB
ATI RADEON HD 7450 1GB DDR3/64 BIT
ATI RADEON 6570 1GB DDR3/64 BIT
nVidia GeForce GT 620 1GB DDR3/64 bit SLIM
nVidia Quadro NVS 420 512MB GDDR3/128 bit

what is your guys oppinion?
also, it needs to be better than the integrated video that is HD 2500 from 3rd gen intel.

By default I'd recommend the Zotac GeForce GT 740 DDR5 LP, but it's rare and it appears to have 64W TDP.

The problem is that almost all your options are DDR3 with 64bit bus which cripple the cards. None of them are good for XP gaming past ~2005.

The best out of all that you listed is the HD5570 for it's 128bit bus. It should perform around the 8800GTS 320MB.

For XP gaming in that time frame personally I'd look into underclocking and undervolting a Geforce GTX 650 (Ti).

man this is perfect - yet I can not find it at all in my country, not new, not second hand. the zotac model is low profile, hard to find. thanks

thank you. so the 128 bits vs 64 bits plays a huge role

The best cards from AMD's side in your list are the 8570, the R5 240 and 340x.

All are GCN based with 384 shaders. The 340X is the highest clocked at ~1GHz.

However, for WindowsXP, only the HD 7000 series is supported with 32bit drivers, I don't know if any of these three would work.

If newer GCN cards can work on Windows XP, you might want to look at the RX 550. There are multiple models, an OEM with 64bit memorybus but the rest have 128bits, there's 512 shader versions and 640 shader ones.

There's also the HD 7750 (55W).

GCN 1st and possibly 2nd generation only, with iCafe 9.000.300.3010 drivers... Modding the INF should work for models that aren't explicitly listed. The RX 550 is a no go.

the HD 5570 must be the one then, since gtx 650 is to hard to obtain.
