VOGONS

I have recently been playing through the very obscure Jeff Kintz library of old 90s DOS games in the attempt to understand everything there is to understand about them. Unfortunately, I hit a wall with the solutions in several games, and my quest for information was met with the obstacle that hardly anybody has ever even heard of these games before. I thus reached out to some sites, such as MobyGames, and was pointed in the direction of this site, Vogons.

Specifically, I was informed that somebody here on Vogons may know more about these games, although when I used the search functionality, I could not find any mention of Jeff Kintz or his games. Therefore I would like to start this topic in order to reach out in case anybody has any more information on solving these games. I make no vouch for their subjective quality, as I feel that is contrary to the effort to run independent games of this era. Despite these setbacks, I felt that the most assured way to never answer my questions would be to never ask.

Mr. J. Kintz's games include titles such as "Dark Convergence", "The Darkest Night", "Elkinloor", "Savage Future", and "Shape Shifter". A collection of his shareware titles can be found on the Internet Archive. What I am looking for are exhaustive solutions to these games.

There are some specific puzzles I have not been able to solve in some of these games, in case more specific queries are needed. In "The Darkest Night", I have been unable to overcome many of the game's obstacles (although I have been able to beat the game). In "Savage Future", I have been unable to find the trilium and electrostatic charger items, and thus have not achieved the best ending. In "Shape Shifter", I have been unable to find a third tower key and thus have not been able to complete the game.

I thank you for any information you may provide me with that will enable me to complete these games. In addition, if any more games can be found, I would be interested in checking them out.

Have a good day.

UPDATE: I have been informed that the lead here on Vogons was actually an error. However, if anyone does have any information on completely solving these games, please do let me know.

Thank you very much for your time.
