Hey guys, can someone talk to me about the 4x mod. I did the little solder bridge in the picture guide. But on my tyan s1564 I can’t seem to get 4x using any of the ?two? Multiplier pins.
Can someone explain the pull up/pull down procedures, pins and configurations, etc. maybe suggest a way that a third jumper could be added to the cpu it’s self? (Maybe even a removable one)

for some Boards (at least the P55T2P4's) "Forcing" BF2 is required as without only 3.5x multi boots (=will bot as 233mhz CPU). BF2 can be activated when it will be connected to ground (VSS) or voltage (VCC3) pin.
the P55T2P4's do not have a factory jumper for BF2 (multi >3,5) so e.g. for a AMD K6-300 (4,5) you also have to bridge/mod the socket ...... then I think the normal "BF2" mod (BF2-NC) is enough. But right now I don't wanna have a flying cable or hard modded Board...

no issues once you do the 3 bridges on the CPU.

A few months ago I tried connecting all three, I don’t recall if I used the correct pins though, I may have assumed incorrectly, but whatever I did blew up a resistor on my motherboard which I was able to fix thankfully.
This is mainly why I want a deeper understanding of what is going on here.
I may just take that knowlege and use it for a bf2 socket mod.
And leave the cpu out of it. As I think the 4x works on ss7 boards?
Anyway, if I haven’t mentioned, I tried dual tillamooks finally. What I find interesting is not that they don’t work in dual, it’s that two will actually boot and show one. Which suggests that there is some kind of smp communication going on, because with any other non smp cpu it leads to no post.

got the Tillamook 266 MMX working at 4x66mhz on a ASUS P/I-XP55T2P4 (ATX Board). Just some headake last night and then I checked some intel documents...
To get multi 4x working, the BF2 has to be "enabled ", so I bridged NC-BF2-Vcc3 and I think this overwrites/enables the missing BF2 support on the Board (or?!)

Is it possible that a short could occur with a configuration like this if you set some of the motherboard jumpers in a specific way? I’m suspecting that instead of a wire we should use a 1k smd there or something?
edit: update on efforts to dual a tillamook have again hit a wall. possibly indefinitely. it seems to be 100% confirmed that several key pins needed for smp are indeed disconnected and basically useless exactly like the tech sheet says.
