Try installing the drivers manually. If that works then you'll likely be without the Nvidia control panel so then try running "NVCplSetupInt.exe" in the driver folder and if not try extracting the files from it and running setup.

If all else fails you can use a application installer monitor to track the control panel install changes on XP, export the changes and import on 2003.

Thank you for the thought, I should have mentioned I had already tried this and it failed, but I am glad I did not! I tried again and now the drivers are installed and running. I don't really need the CPL app as it's only a test system and XP/2003 don't support SLI anyway, neither does the motherboard.

When I tried before I did Search for the best drivers in these locations and it seems doing this meant the MS VGA driver got selected as the best driver 🙁

When I did Don't search, I will choose the driver to install it offered both the MS VGA + GTX 285 with the VGA being the default. When I selected GTX 285 it whinged about it not being signed, but works well enough. As I recall when I installed it on XP x32 there were no whinges about it not being signed.

It's possible either\or the certs aren't updated that box or the drivers are using a cert and the 2003 box doesn't have the update installed to use that kind of cert.
Not a big deal for XP and 2003 to use "unsigned" drivers though.

The certs look to be OK, I checked mv4_disp.cat and it's signature is valid. I suspect it may be down to such as nv4_disp.dl_ being there rather than the uncompressed nv4_disp.dll, my guess is that the installer un-compresses all these files. Either way I can't be bothered to figure it out.

2003 is still better, on my old systems I always install 2003 x32 Enterprise Server rather than XP as that way they are not limited to 4GB of memory, further the 5.02 kernel has KeIpiGenericCall() so SIV can use it 😀. I gather there are patches for XP that allow > 4GB, but to my thinking 2003 x32 Enterprise is clearly a better/safer option.
