Crusader: No Regret v1.06 under DOSBox 0.70

So I've gone through the forum reading more threads than I can count on getting the Crusader games to run under DOSBox. I'm sorry for posting another, but I just can't seem to get No Regret to run. So I apologize now for beating this poor dead horse yet again.

Please note that No Remorse is running, and the issue is only with No Regret.

The install runs fine. But when I attempt to start the game, it fails to completely load and results in the same error each time. The error is:

Halted file ..\CACHE\FLEXHAND.C, line 45.

I've been under the impression this error is due to an issue with finding the path to the CD. I've tried mounting the CD in the drive. I've tried, mounting an ISO of the CD. I've tried copying the files from CD to HD and mounting that directory.

I've also tried with and without EMS, as one thread suggested. The same thread also suggested running with 32MB instead of 63MB. Still no go.

Does anyone have the definitive guide? or other suggestions?

You mention the version number - does this mean you patched the game?

My standard steps would be:

- reinstall the game to make sure
- make a *correct* ISO of the game - use UltraISO or another quality program and make a bin/cue file (.iso files don't contain audio info)
- then I would either try and mount the image directly in Dosbox (works for me) or use Daemon Tools to mount it in Windows and then link to it in Dosbox using the -usecd parameter on the mount command.
