I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a screen that has a red tint to it (see pic). The blue color looks fine, but white looks red. I'm wondering if this is something a screen replacement could fix, or if there may be another issue. I see an ifixit replacement article for the screen that looks doable, and screens for the laptop are only about $20 plus shipping on eBay. Does anyone know if a new screen would likely fix the issue, or if I'm better off recycling it?

CCFL lamps gone tired, when they go red and eventually die. Replace the lamps with LED or another panel.

Seen some like that before.

Before replacing the screen though, reseat and clean the LCD connector - you might find it flickers back to normal colours
