It sure does have some bass but that can be toned down in the app I think? I mostly like it but there has been the odd time when it felt like too much of a good thing

Life? Don't talk to me about life.

I believe Tiido (or someone else? Maybe keropi?) posted earlier a bunch of small software or sysex messages that reset the EQ to something more sane, but that solution did not work for me for whatever reason. It also does not work for games that reset the mixer upon start.

Maybe this is not the right place to ask, but if any of you one day wants to part ways with their Yucatan FX, I will be interested in giving it a new home. I like how it sounds and also... I am from Yucatan.

Just send me a PM.

Thanks and take care everybody.

Thanks for the video!

This makes me want to get one more. If only I could just acquire one.

UPDATE: And I finally got one! Thanks!

Not likely. These are probably just made from a pile of extra parts that were found to be laying around. Since he already paid for them, making another batch is good business.

No changes were made. I could get hold of needed parts to make some 20 more boards, after that it is over.

If one has a X2GS, would there be any allure to getting a YucatanFX other than the beautifully kitschy pineapple on it? 😀

There is no technical reason why you'd need a Yucatan Fx if you already have X2GS, for your GS gaming needs.
Isn't the pineapple charm enough reason ? X2GS is running on modern chips.
But the Reptile Paradise Yucatan Fx functions and sounds exactly as its Turtle Beach cousin.
So if you ever wanted a Cancun specialty in your pc, the Yucatan is a great and accurate replacement.

I'm curious as to why you only made an additional 20, since there's no shortage of the Dream chip and the GS ROM in the circuit seller inventories. Not that I think that you should have made more, but you make it sound like the parts are scarce and hard to come by. Is there some secret, low-supply part in there?

No secret parts, what you see is what you get. They were received from a reliable source, but are the last ones.
If I'd ever make more Yucatan Fx, i would need to try find different suppliers indeed, not sure of the quality.

Thanks for making more of these! I ordered one Saturday. I've been very happy with the S2 waveboard, but want something a little more retro.

Based on Hummtaro's presets I've created another preset variant that turns equalization off (by default V shaped equalizer settings are applied). Volume however is still at max (127). It doesn't seem to distort in my setup.

Hello, I'm new here lmao

So lemme tell you something about the soundbank. In my country, the Philippines, it is used as an karaoke soundbank for some machines and is used as a MIDI bank in a new format (DXB I guess) for MIDI soundchips by Dream.

For example:

Dream SAM2533B, SAM2133B, SAM2634

these are the ones i could think of it lmao

also idk why did they duplicate the gm tones on 127 when it should originally be for mt32

Sorry to hear that, I loved the sound when I heard it in a comparison video on Youtube, because it reminded me of the SC55 but seemed to pack even more of a punch if I had to describe it.
I looked for the card in your shop a few days ago but of course I was late to the party, and hoped there would be still a chance to get one.
Is there anything that sounds very close to it, or a soundfont I can get and load on the X2GS user bank?

I think X2GS is very close
