I'm staring to feel the urge to test the sempron under win98.
Next in the box a Jetway 663AS with a Athlon 700:

Assortment of dimm and simm's (always useful to have at hand):
Finally at the end of the box a nice assortment of IDE and floppy flat cables :

Those two Vega Plus are just asking for a race if you have a board with both VLB and PCI!

Yes. I eventually plan to do that. I now have several bus variants combination of identical cards (ISA/PCI/VL-Bus) and some (Orchid Fahrenheit 1280) even in proprietary local bus variants and EISA.
Added this old girl to my P3 Tualatin collection a Recapped DFI CA-64TC RevC (Rubycons) with a PIII 1.4s
I think this is one of the cheaper Tualatin Capable boards but I dont have a Tually board with ISA right now so this is a welcome addition next to my DDR SiS653t Tually Board, Looking to add a Gigabyte GA-6OXT with a Tualeron eventually. (Still keeping an eye out for the ultra rare Gigabyte GA-6RX which is DDR capable, have yet to see one)
Edit - This seller is great, he threw another working Tualatin board into the box as a spare at no extra charge, always happy to have an extra spare Tually board.
Some SCSI love. Bought a Adaptec SCSI controller with cable and terminator for 25€.
I want to try to bring back to life a Tandberg tape drive taken apart from an IBM AS/400 server.

Bought a matching graphics card for this Formac ProNitron 17/500 monitor I got earlier: Re: Bought these (retro) hardware today
Formac ProFormance III. Probably not the greatest card ever, but having same brand monitor and graphics card pleases my autistic mind 😀 At least Unreal Tournament runs great.
Fan was loud as hell, but after one reboot, it went silent. I think it broke already, should check if it spins at all 😁
Image quality on this thing is excellent, very Matrox-like.
Bought two nice sound cards today via the Evil Bay for not terrible prices considering what these two usually go for.
Diamond Monster MX300 - 76 USD
Aopen AW32 Pro S23A - 70 USD
Going to throw the MX300 into my 98 rig with the X-FI card and see if I cant get them to play together, will be great having A3D and EAX in the same machine, the S23A will head to a SS7 rig that doesnt have a Wavetable yet. (With the two sound cards do I pipe the line out on the MX300 to the line in on the X-Fi?)
From the bottom of some barrel.
Can someone tell me right away what standard the one on the left ist?
Some old notebook type?
I like jumpers.

Possibly Mac based or some kind of cache module would be my guess.
PCI RAM 😁

I wonder if that's the module that goes into an HP Vectra VE 4/66
Cache and video memory upgrade questions - HP Vectra VE 4/66
Can't recall seeing any other boards with a PCI-ish connector for cache.

hehe, it does indeed fit a PCI slot, if a bit too short, but how would that make sense?
When you look up "PCI RAM", you find this though, which is fascinating:

OK, I got at least one plausible google hit:
https://www.ultimateretro.net/de/motherboards/6289
It's for a prehistoric Siemens Nixdorf system. Anyone have one of those, PM me.

That Acer S23A sound card has the WaveBlaster header missing, the only way to access the MPU-401 interface is thru the gameport without modding.
(With the two sound cards do I pipe the line out on the MX300 to the line in on the X-Fi?)
Yes. You could also do it the other way around: X-Fi line-out -> MX300 line-in.
This is because the MX300 (Aureal Vortex 2) has DOS drivers while the Sound Blaster X-Fi doesn't.

According to the seller that S32A has a 1mb Wavetable Rom built into it 😀
Would be the Three extra ICs at the bottom left of the card at a guess.
That way of hooking up the cards sounds like a better Idea, will give that a shot first.

I didn't notice that it had a Wavetable synth onboard until now tbh. 😜

Weird crap from the thrift again, dropped a whole $3 on a PCMCIA serial card. Oxford CF-950... packed like retail consumer card, but it mayyy be a tad more flexible...
https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/80519.pdf
Supposed to work with 9x, 2k and XP... in theory I've got 386 and 486 notebooks it will plug into, but most of those have serial ports... though you can use a serial mouse and still have a serial port for comms I guess. Thinking I might more likely use it on a later Thinkpad, which kept cardbus slots into C2D models, but lost serial ports on most. Which will then speak to older machines and/or dev boards of various stripes (Arduino, ESP8266 etc)
