Anyone wanna check the measurements on this and prototype it?

if all looks good I can make a ultra version (this won't fit ultra)

That's a really nice board. I love the color.

What do you plan to use the iRam for?

Just for cool factor really. And page file. But I have enough ram that the page file isn’t much needed.

That's pretty cool. I saw someone make something like this with some handsome looking orange wire, I think. I want to mod one of my boards with this some day.

which board ya thinkin?

if this works well, I think I'll probably make one for the tyan S1564D and the freeway ultra

Probably my ASUS P5A, since that's the same one that I'm doing to add your CPU mod to.

I would have modded one of my Intel AN430TX boards, as I have a small collection of them. But they already have +3.3V on the PCI slots. It's also a Socket 7 board, so this was very surprising. I do want to CPU mod this one though.

which revision? I'm assuming 1.05-1.06? the tweaker has a WT/WB mod for those.
I have a 1.04

I had a 1.06 but it sucked 🤣, ditched it.

Is there any advantage other than convenience to have it manufactured as a single PCB rather than individual parts that can be connected via a wire? If it is in pieces, it would be compatible with more boards.

In the thread “adding 3.3v to pci” there is a single pci version.

I just noticed that I messed up the part where the 3.3v and 3.3/5v jumpers are. Oops 🤣 will fix that in next version. I plan on ordering red anyway so this was just a prototype to make sure it fit (red costs a lot more)

Re: Adding 3.3v to pci
Here is the thread.
I haven’t ordered a prototype. If you want to, go for it, 😀 lemme know if it is okay or needs changes

What you did is called modification board bodge. If I recall correctly, saves money not re-spin the board again, just install small bodge board either with jumpers or without.

🤔 cool. Didn’t know that term. I’ve heard of bodge wires.

ideally, have some ground solder points on the bodge board and few SMD pads for capacitor or two next to each slot?

Not a bad idea.

Got a footprint in mind?

Prob easier to add the caps near the atx connector

FREEWAY DESIGN FW Ti5VGF 1 3 3 V Adapterv3.1415.zip

okay, I have version 3.1415 of the pcb ready.

this is for the non ultra

the ultra version requires a modification to the atx location

-removed the vsb disconnect

-fixed the solder bridge configuration

-raised the atx location just a tad

-came up with a new edge cut layout

this is probably a final version, but currently I don't have a plan to prototype it anytime soon, lots of other stuff to do on other things in my life, so if someone wants to try it out go for it. just be careful.

eventually I'll modify this for the ultra
